Aka… when your friend lets you take over her office for an entire month, refuses to let you pay for anything, and basically reworks her entire life to hang out with you while you’re visiting her and her family in the random African country that they happen to be stationed in.
I can’t even begin to put into words my thanks to Kristen, Kevin, Caleb, Joshua, Evelyn and Gideon for welcoming me into their family and home as an adopted wife/sister for a month. The kids and I ate together, played together, and occasionally the kids sassed me when we weren’t playing video games or baking cookies. I didn’t see *too* much of Kevin, but that’s primarily because he didn’t mind that I essentially stole Kristen away for the majority of the time I was visiting, dragging her out on random adventures. With Kristen…I don’t even know where to begin. From worrying that I got abducted for wearing denim shorts in the wrong area, to endlessly lending me clothes, to feeding me, working out with me, driving me around all over Kinshasa, introducing me to her friends and clients, and so many other things I’m sure I’m forgetting to mention… thank you SO much. I had an amazing time staying with you and yours, and I’m so incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity not only to check out Kinshasa and the DRC, but to spend time with you and the rest of the Toth family.
