The visa saga continues…. I headed to Washington, DC last night so that I could “pop in” to the Congolese Embassy and see if I could just get my passport (with visa) back in hand, as I’ve heard horror stories about the Embassy just hanging on to passports in drawers for weeks…
Well, last night I thought “oh well maybe I’ll just check the tracking number one more time to MAKE SURE that it’s still there before I trek out to DC proper in the morning… I’m sure it’s still… WHAT?!”
Yep! My prepaid return envelope was scanned by the USPS last night! It’s en-route BACK TO NJ and I have NO IDEA if my visa was processed or not!
I’m crossing my fingers super hard about this, but ALSO I’m terrified because my housemates are going away on Saturday and I won’t be home until Monday (MAYBE Sunday night). I really really really don’t want my passport sitting in the mailbox indefinitely. It’s just going to give me heart palptitations… So I’m hoping to see if when the tracking verifies that it was delivered, a friend might be willing to swing by and scoop it up for me.
THIS IS SO STRESSFUL!
Hopefully, HOPEFULLY the visa is in there and I can get Egypt done next week and then BOOK MY FLIGHT TO CAPE TOWN!
More to come I’m sure. Think good thoughts and cross your fingers for me please!
